Bush Appoints Bolton

As expected, President Bush just appointed John R. Bolton to be U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, despite significant objections from the Senate. Not surprisingly, Bush makes this move on the first day of the Senate recess – in other words, the very first chance he got to thwart the will of the people by going around the confirmation process.
