More Paul Hackett From Last Night's Hardball

If you haven't yet been to Crooks and Liars to see the clip of Iraq war Veteran and Democrat Paul Hackett dismantling the GOP's only Iraq war Vet running for Congress, Van Taylor, you're missing quite a show.

A couple more of my favorites…

Here's Hackett responding when Taylor lamely implies that anyone who doesn’t agree with George W. Bush doesn't understand the war on terror:
"Van obviously doesn‘t understand the war on terror. Where is Osama bin Laden? Where is the 6‘2” white robe-dressed, left-handed Arab who is walking around in Pakistan or Afghanistan? That was the war against those who attacked us on our soil.

"War on terror? I mean, that‘s a ridiculous sound bite. Terror, as you know, Van, is a military strategy. It‘s not a philosophy. You are not going to defeat a strategy. You are going to defeat a philosophy. And if you want to defeat it, you have to address what compels those people to sacrifice their lives and kill innocent women and children."
And this one in which Hackett slaps Taylor for robotically repeating the same stupid talking point about "fighting them there, so we don't have to fight them here":
"That is a false choice and it‘s silly and ridiculous to even imply that. Al Qaeda represents a small faction of the people who are fighting there. They came there because we are there. We rocked the boat there. At this point, this administration has no strategy to fix the problem."
It was a thing of beauty from the same guy who once said about Bush's "bring it on" taunt: "That's the most incredibly stupid comment I've ever heard a president of the United States make."

I
f we can't find a place in Ohio to get Hackett elected to national office, we need to at least get him on television every chance we get.
