Bush's Approval At 28 Percent

Leading up to George W. Bush's State of the Union speech tonight, the latest national poll shows that Bush's approval rating has dropped to a record-low 28 percent.

A CBS News poll released yesterday shows that the vast majority of Americans think Bush is doing a lousy job in general and strongly oppose his plan to escalate the war in Iraq. According to the poll, 64 percent of Americans outright disapprove of the job Bush is doing and only 28 percent approve. Two-thirds of respondents oppose the Bush-McCain Doctrine of sending more troops to Iraq, while 72 percent think Bush should have to get Congressional approval for any troop increases.

Can't wait to hear what Bush has to say tonight to make this all seem just swell.
