Smarten Up, New York City Democrats

A discouraging Quinnipiac University poll was just released showing Republican New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg with a huge lead over Democrat Fernando Ferrer, 52 percent to 38 percent.

But that's not the truly disheartening part. The poll also shows that Republicans stand by their candidate to the tune of 85 percent, while only 48 percent of Democrats are committed to Ferrer.

What the hell is up with that?

Do New York City Democrats not yet get it, that a vote for Michael Bloomberg – who is a massive personal contributor to George W. Bush and the Republican party – is an endorsement of current and future Bush administration policies?
Have the last five years not quite sucked enough for Big Apple Democrats?

We need to get moving on the process of slapping them back to reality to ensure that a city that is supposed to be a liberal stronghold has
a Democrat Mayor.
