Rosa Parks Has Died

Terrible news out of Detroit tonight: Rosa Parks, a true American hero and icon of the civil rights struggle, died tonight at 92. Parks reportedly died around 7 p.m. at St. John Hospital.

Parks' refusal to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Ala., in 1955 landed her in jail and sparked a bus boycott that is considered the start of the modern civil rights movement.

Very sad indeed.
