Scooter Libby Hates Your Freedom!

It’s obvious that Mr. Libby values his ‘freedom’ more than your safety based on his legal maneuverings. Using the now standard Bush\Cheney measure for patriotic actions, it can only be concluded that Scooter Libby is working for al Qaeda and wants to see disaster in America. According to The Washington Post:

A former White House aide’s wide-ranging demand for classified intelligence documents to aid his defense in the CIA leak case would sabotage the case if granted, the prosecutor is arguing.

Special Counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald suggested that lawyers for I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby were trying to torpedo the government’s case by pressing for the documents, including nearly a year’s worth of the President’s Daily Brief, a summary of international intelligence and threats to the United States that the Bush administration has fiercely guarded in the past.

“The defendant’s effort to make history . . . is a transparent effort at ‘greymail,’ ” he said, referring to past attempts by government officials charged with wrongdoing to derail their prosecutions by trying to expose national security secrets

OK, Mr. Libby isn’t really working for Osama, he’s just trying to save his ass with a slick legal maneuver. He knows his ex-boss won’t (and shouldn’t) turn over those documents - none of which are likely to be relevant for his defense over outing of Valerie Plame. It’s just a calculated attempt to make the American public swallow more garbage over the Bush admin’s abuse of power.
