Blue Jersey: Menendez Reacts To Coming GOP Iraq Filibuster

Jay Lassiter at Blue Jersey happened to be doing an interview this afternoon with Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), just as Majority Leader Harry Reid was letting Senate Republicans know that tomorrow will be a very long day if they filibuster the Reed-Levin bill to redeploy American troops from Iraq.

This is a very timely interview and you can sense Menendez's frustration with trying to get anything positive done while hampered with a Republican minority more concerned with protecting George W. Bush than doing the right thing for our country.

"I believe on critical issues like the war, it is time to make the Republicans stand on their feet and go through a traditional filibuster, so that the rest of the nation will understand what they're doing, who is obfuscating, who is creating the impediment to changing the course of the war," said Menendez.

Blue Jersey is an amazing resource if you live in the Garden State and, even if you don’t, it's one of the most well-produced blogs out there.

Be sure to check back in with them tomorrow for the remainder of the Menendez interview.
