Fox News Grills…. A Republican?

How bad has the McCain-Palin campaign of lies and smears against Barack Obama gotten? Even Fox News is beginning to call them on it.

McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds recently had the crap beaten out of him by Campbell Brown of CNN on his inability to answer a simple political question and on Monday Fox's Megyn Kelly ran him through the ringer on the McCain lying strategy, saying "I want to hold you accountable for what McCain is doing and get you to weigh in on this."

Here's Kelly hitting Bounds on how McCain continues to say Obama will raise taxes on the middle class:

"I'm saying what the independent analysts say. They say that claim is false. And if that's false, why would John McCain do that, Tucker? Why wouldn't he just level with the voters and say, look, he's going to raise taxes on the wealthy or whatever you consider somebody to be making over $250,000, it's going to have a trickle down effect. That may not be good for the middle class. But why say he's going to raise taxes on the middle class when he's not?"

I suspect Ms. Kelly will be getting called into a big boss's office at Fox today and told something like this: "Uh, Megyn, we don't do the real journalism thing here at Fox News."
