Schumer, Dodd On McCain's Suspended-Campaign Stunt

Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Chris Dodd (D-CT), who actually have been in the trenches working to resolve the financial emergency caused by the Bush-McCain economic policies, have issued a joint statement on John McCain's decision to "suspend" his campaign and turn his attention to the nation's economic crisis:
"We are pleased to report we are making bipartisan progress on a rescue proposal for our financial markets. During these discussions, we have received significant cooperation and constructive feedback from the other side of the aisle -- with one notable exception. Apart from his unproductive criticisms made from afar, we have heard nothing from Senator McCain on these critical issues. Now is certainly not the time for him to inject presidential politics into these delicate discussions."
In other words, you've been nowhere to be seen until now, don’t bother showing up for a campaign photo op and as an excuse to duck your debate with Barack Obama.
