BuzzFlash's GOP Hypocrite Of The Week

Hey, it's Friday, which means it's time to check out BuzzFlash's "GOP Hypocrite Of The Week." As always, it's a grueling process to narrow the selection to just one Republican hypocrite, and this week BuzzFlash went with Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss, who was reelected in a Senate run-off election this week despite being a gutless Chickenhawk, a general scumbag and a genuine Southern Cracker.

Oh, wait, it appears those characteristics help one get elected in Georgia.

Here's a BuzzFlash excerpt:
You can't keep a bad man down when it comes to Republican Southern politics, and so Saxby "Chickenhawk" Chambliss will return to the U.S. Senate after defeating Democratic Vietnam War Veteran Jim Martin.

Chambliss was a coward who got out of the Vietnam War by claiming a football injury prevented him from serving. In 2002, he ran a savagely dishonest campaign against triple Vietnam War amputee Max Cleland, running ads where Cleland's face morphed into Osama bin Laden's.

Southern Republicans love to elect tin soldiers who look strong and brave and love war, as long as other people are fighting it for them. And many of the voters who re-elected Chambliss may be more loyal to the notions of the Confederacy than to America.

In fact, in 2007, we "honored" Chambliss as the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week, noting that he yearned for the days of Stonewall Jackson when he stated in the Senate Armed Services Committee: "We need better intelligence. If we had better intelligence in the Civil War, we'd be quoting Jefferson Davis, not Lincoln."
