This Week's Senate Committee Schedule

It's a generally slow week in the brief lame-duck Senate session that will be held, save for the goings-on over the Big-Three automakers and their self-induced dilemma caused by years of pushing giant trucks getting 10 miles to the gallon… But there's a few Senate committee hearings being held this week -- here they are:

Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry

Dec 8, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Hearings to examine USDA food assistance and child nutrition programs in the economic downturn, focusing on promoting health and fighting hunger.

Energy and Natural Resources

Dec 10, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. Hearings to examine investment in clean energy and natural resources projects and programs to create jobs and stimulate the economy.

Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions

Dec 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. A hearing entitled "Prevention and Public Health: The Key to Transforming our Sickcare System."

Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
