Breaking: Rehnquist Dead

Story breaking out of Washington, D.C. is that U.S. Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist, 80, has died after a lengthy illness. Rehnquist had been suffering from thyroid cancer.

Appointed by Richard Nixon in 1972, Rehnquist has always been a solid conservative vote on the Supreme Court. He voted against the expansion of school desegregation plans and dissented in Roe v. Wade in 1973. He was in favor of school prayer, capital punishment and states' rights.

Rehnquist also sided with the majority in Bush v. Gore in 2000, the 5-4 Court decision that made George W. Bush the president of the United States.

Another fight is about to begin... Get ready for one hell of a fall and winter, folks.
