The Latest from Scott "The Lyin' King" McClellan

Here's our favorite prevaricator in one of the press gaggles held today on Air Force One when asked about Michael Brown's statements before Congress, in which he blames all the post-Katrina problems on local officials:
Question: He's blaming Louisiana officials for the slow response to the storm. Do you agree with that?

McClellan: Washington tends to focus on finger pointing. The President is focused on problem solving. That's why he's been visiting the region today, he wants to make sure that things -- as I said, he wants to make sure things are getting done that need to get done.

Right. Saying Bush is on the ground helping people while the finger-pointing goes on in D.C. is a bit like the guy who hires a contract killer and then skips town for Vegas so he has an alibi. Just because you're not in the room, doesn't mean you're not behind what's being said.

Nice try though, Scottie.
