Reader Mail: The Friday Fruitcakes

Well, it's Friday, which means it's time to look in the old Yellow Dog mailbag and, for pure entertainment value only, see what right-winger has crawled out from under a rock to give me my comeuppance.

Mr. Gerald Williams, of an undisclosed location, incoherently writes as follows:

What worthless yellow dog swine wants to kill unborn babies and let killers like SADDAM live. I wish they both could live like the poor IRAQI women lived and still live under repression from the idiots of ISLAM and SADDAM as well as the Bin Laden's's love ya today AMERICAN woman brigade of misguided far left protesting fools. My son-in-law fights for their rights to be killers of the unborn, and deliverers of life to the heinous. He's in IRAQ today. I sacrificed for my nation as well for 10 consecutive years just so NANCY and HILLARY's could have the right to make grossly unfair and distorted commentary just like my commentary is so biased. Are we ever going to be ONE NATION, UNDER GOD WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL or are we going to be ONE PIECE OF LAND WITH A DIVIDED NATION, WITH NO GOD, TYRANNY, AND BURKA'S TO ALL. 300 Years from now if these leaders of our nation do not protect against extremists like SADDAM, OSAMMA, the TALIBAN, the leaders of the MADRASSAS always ready to kill us in SAUDI ARABIA, PAKISTAN, SYRIA, PALESTINE, etc.; we will surely fall pray to the nearly 2000 years of blood on the hands of these few genocidal men praying for our deaths. The FAR, FAR, FAR LEFT I call the HIL-LOSI LEFT will not fight until too late. The moderates of CHRISTIAN faith and those willing to serve our nation are all you have between your freedom and the NEO-ISLAMIC horde.

MOVE TO THE MIDDLE, SUPPORT YOUR NATION AND PROTECT YOUR GREAT GRAND CHILDREN'S RIGHTS AS WELL. AT THE PACE YOU ARE ON, THERE WILL BE NO AMERICA, LEFT OR RIGHT, TO BELIEVE IN AND PROTECT. THE ACLU, NOW, HIL-LOSI, RIGHT-TO-LIFE, ROE V WADE, will live NO MORE. We will have succumbed to the NEO-ISLAMIC fanatics and death to BUSH will be usurped by death to AMERICA thanks to HIL-LOSI.

Whew! That's a little tough to get a handle on, Gerry – especially since I have no idea what the hell you're talking about. Though I am relieved to read the part about people of the Christian faith being all that's between me and "... the NEO-ISLAMIC horde."

Like many Jewish households, as we sit down to Shabbat dinner tonight, we will give thanks once again for the protections provided to us by the Religious Right. Thanks for the reminder.
