Another Day, Another Bad Bush Poll

If it's [insert any day here], it must be time for another poll showing that the American people have had it with George W. Bush and his cast of crooks and idiots. An Associated Press-Ipsos poll, taken January 3-5, shows the president wallowing in the same mediocrity that has become so painfully familiar to him in his second term.

A whopping 65 percent of Americans believe the country is generally on the wrong track and 59 percent disapprove of the job Bush is doing as president.

Sixty percent disapprove of the White House's handling of the economy while the vast majority of Americans – 63 percent – give Bush low marks for his handling of other domestic issues like health care, education, energy and the environment.

Surprisingly, 44 percent believe Bush is doing a good job in the "war on terrorism" – which is amazing, considering that the president gave up actually fighting a war on terror years ago. BobGeiger.com is investigating reports that the same 44 percent of Americans believe that the earth is flat and that Princess Diana is still alive and living with Elvis in a secret Memphis apartment.

And, of course, when it comes to Iraq, the AP-Ipsos poll shows that the majority of us disapprove of the handling of the Iraq war, with 58 percent continuing to give Bush a massive thumbs down.

I guess when enough of our brave troops continue to die for nothing, no amount of saying "9/11, 9/11, 9/11" over and over again will continue to fool people.
