Friday Poll Dancing

It may be happening in tiny increments at this point, but little by little even more Americans are seeing the light on just how bad George W. Bush really is. In a Newsweek poll released Thursday and conducted on June 18 and 19 by Princeton Survey Research Associates, Bush checked in with a dismal 26 percent approval rating, with 65 percent expressly disapproving of the job he's doing as president.

In addition, 68 percent of poll respondents say they are dissatisfied "…with the way things are going in the United States at this time."

Here's some other poll lowlights of how people feel about Bush's performance in key areas of his job:
  • The situation in Iraq: 73 percent disapprove
  • Terrorism and homeland security: 50 percent disapprove
  • The economy: 60 percent disapprove
  • Immigration policy: 63 percent disapprove
  • Health care: 61 percent disapprove
As for the few people remaining who think Bush is doing a dandy job as president, I'm still investigating reports that the same 26 percent also believe that Paris Hilton should be the next Secretary of the Treasury.
