GOP Senator Thomas Has Died

CNN has just reported that Wyoming Republican Senator Craig Thomas has died at age 74 after being diagnosed with leukemia in November.

Thomas' family issued a statement saying he died tonight at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Under state law, Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal, a Democrat, will appoint a successor from one of three finalists chosen by the state Republican party.
