Modern Piracy Of The Coast Of Somalia

My friend Sean-Paul Kelly at The Agonist tipped me off to an interesting story of modern-day pirates, who are terrorizing commercial vessels of the coast of Somalia and often holding the ships' crews for ransom. Particularly distressing is that a common target of the pirate attacks seems to be United Nations ships carrying food aid for the World Food Program.

Sean-Paul cites the food program's executive director asking for leading world nations to pitch in to end this renewed form of old-school terrorism and wonders how much more America could do if we were not so bogged down in Iraq.

Please go to The Agonist to read this very interesting story.
