Today In The Senate

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and proceed to a period of morning business for up to one hour, with the time equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees.

Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of S. 3001, the Defense Authorization bill. The filing deadline for all second degree amendments to S. 3001 is 12:00 noon.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus luncheons to meet.

At 3:00 p.m. the Senate expects to proceed to a cloture vote on S. 3001.

Managers of the bill continue to work through filed amendments; if an agreement is reached, the cloture vote could be delayed in order to accommodate consideration of amendments.
