Aspen Daily News: Palin "Just Doesn't Seem That Bright"

A lot of newspaper editorial boards have given strong opinions about John McCain's ill-advised choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, but the Aspen Daily News, in endorsing Barack Obama on Monday, finally said what most have been too polite to put in print.

Simply stated, the Aspen Daily News opined that Palin "… just doesn't seem that bright."

Here's the full paragraph in context:
It's hard to say what McCain's true colors are, but they were clearly evident in his selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate. While it was a tactical success in energizing the Republican Party, it was a reckless move that would put our country in danger should she ever become commander-in-chief. Not only is she inexperienced and unworldly, Palin just doesn't seem that bright. She dodges too many questions and fumbles too many answers to lead the free world.
Perhaps even one month ago I would have called Palin woefully unqualified, but stopped short of questioning her intellect. But after seeing her on the campaign trail this long and observing that she still has no grasp of something as fundamental as the Vice President's narrow job description, I've got say… The Daily News got it right.
