Bolton Nomination Sinking Fast

Good heavens, there may actually be some thinking Republicans out there.

The vote to move John Bolton out of committee – and to the full Senate for a vote – was postponed yesterday after Republicans on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee began getting squeamish over exactly how bad this guy looks as U.N. Ambassador.

Ohio Senator George Voinovich, Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska lead the Republican change of heart.

Check out a good overview of yesterday's news on the nomination here.

Of course, the White House continues to blame Democrats and the imagined liberal media for the controversy and stands by their man.

"John Bolton is exactly the person we need at the United Nations at this time," White House, press secretary Scott McClellan said.
