Repubs Shanking Their Own Judges

And the Republican war on judges continues.

This time, members of the Religious Right are citing Florida judge George Greer's involvement in the Terri Schiavo case as their reason for objecting to his receiving a lifetime achievement award from a local branch of the Bar Association.

Greer, like most of the judges who ruled on Schiavo, is a Republican who has been re-elected twice since first ruling (the same way) in the Schiavo case in 2000.

But he's downright liberal to Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life who calls Greer a “murderer.” Greer has also received death threats and had to leave the church he attended because of the far Right's reaction to his court rulings.

You have to admire Judge Greer for sticking with legal principles, despite knowing the treatment he would get from the sick political party he has chosen.
