Terrorist Threats Down But, Uh, Actual Attacks Up

That zany White House... You have to kind of admire how they try to take every bit of real news and knock it off the front page with either manufactured news or something irrelevant that they make look like a substantial story.

"U.S. Sees Drop in Terrorist Threats," crows the Bush-led Intelligence community.

That's good news and all, but isn't that a bit like my little boy's school reporting that overt threats against him by schoolyard bullies are down while, sadly, he is still being pummeled at recess five days a week?

Nice try by Team Bush, but you've got to believe that most Americans are less concerned about threats and more worried about how much the attacks themselves have increased on his watch.
