Another Day, Another Bad Bush Poll

A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll released Tuesday shows that George W. Bush has hit a new low in his approval rating and that a record number of the American people now oppose the continuing Iraq occupation.

The poll, taken July 6-8, shows Bush's approval rating at a pathetic 29 percent with 66 percent of respondents saying they expressly disapprove of how the president is performing his job.

And just in time for the major debates on Iraq to take place in the U.S. Senate over the next two weeks, the survey shows that 70 percent of Americans favor removing all U.S. troops from Iraq by April.

In other results, 62 percent say the United States made a mistake in sending troops to Iraq and two-thirds say Bush shouldn't have intervened in the case of former White House aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who was sentenced to 2½ years in prison for perjury and obstruction of justice in the investigation of who leaked a CIA operative's identity.

We'll see how much longer even the most brain-dead Republicans will be willing to stick by this guy.
