When Mehlman's Not Lying, He's Just Dumb

I just discovered the wonderful blog, Moxiegrrrl.com, after a reader wrote to tell me that the blog's author writes like a kindred spirit.

Here's something I just saw on her blog.

Don't know how I missed it, but Moxiegrrrl reports that RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman was on television Sunday making a total ass of himself. While on CNN's Late Edition and discussing President Bush once again turning down an invitation to speak at the NAACP annual convention, Mehlman said this:

" The NAACP unfortunately in the 2000 campaign likened the president to James Byrd, who was a racist killer in east Texas, who the president brought to justice."

Uh, wasn't Mr. Byrd the victim in that killing?
