Harris Begins Bid For Senate

Katherine Harris, the woman who almost single-handedly brought the Jim Crow days of voter suppression back to Florida, announced today that she is a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. Harris will attempt to win her party's nomination to take on Democrat Bill Nelson, who currently holds that Senate seat.

Harris says her top priorities will be homeland security – there's a surprise for a Republican platform – health care and hurricane relief.

(Hurricane relief? Sounds like a liberal giveaway to me.)

The former Florida Secretary of State will immediately depart on an "extended listening tour," which will include an extensive look at predominantly African-American communities to find any black people who actually got to vote in the 2000 election.
